Goodbyes and Hellos

The last month has brought a few firsts for us. We said goodbye to two of our friends, our first to repatriate back to the states and said hello to Brad and Gruber, our first visitors in six months!

At the beginning of April, our friends Dan and Kerry moved back to America with their cute little girl, Isla. They moved to London shortly after Pat and I did and Kerry worked in the same group with me at work. We quickly hit it off and had dinner together regularly to try out new restaurants. We got to meet Isla in September and continued with our 'dates', which mostly consisted of take away and Play Station Jeopardy after Isla's arrival!

Then at the end of the month, Bobby and Erin, our friends who lived in the basement flat at our old building on Russell Road, moved back to New York. They had been talking about it for a while so it was sad to see it turn into a reality! We were already sad to move away from Russell Road and not being able to stop down whenever, but now it'll have to be a trip across the pond! A bunch of us got together for their leaving drinks last Saturday at the Windsor Castle in Kensington. It was a beautiful Saturday and we were able to spend the entire afternoon on the patio before going over to another friends, Ryan and Megan's for a BBQ dinner.

We will miss both Dan, Kerry and Isla and Bobby and Erin, and of course Jack but look forward to visiting them in Tampa and New York in the future! Shortly after our friends left the country, we also left the country to meet Brad and Erik in Amsterdam for a long weekend! But more to come on that trip later!
