A Proper Tea

Just as soon as we were back from Italy, we had guests arrive on Saturday the 2nd! My best friend Laura and her friend Leslie were visiting with us for the next ten days and of course we had lots planned!

After the ladies arrived on Saturday and got settled, we headed over to Jen’s for some girl time. We had a great time chatting about London, Minnesota, boys and babies. It was getting late and the girls were a bit tired from the jet lag so we headed back to my flat. Of course it not only had to be raining but was pouring out! We waited about 25 minutes for the bus before finally giving up and walking to the tube station. Needless to say, we were all soaked by the time we got back to the flat!

Sunday we made a little brunch then headed to Fortnum and Mason for a proper afternoon tea. Even though Pat and I have lived in London for over two years, this was our first one!

We started with a sample of three teas of Asian blends to pick our main tea from. They were okay but I think next time I’ll stick with English Breakfast! Next came the cucumber sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and clotted cream, and lots of yummy desserts! Everything was fantastic and we were all stuffed! We loved the experience though and are looking forward to our next property tea!
